Such a beautiful early spring in Poland in Silesia! We feel like we traveled in time, after Serbia, that was in the full bloom when we started our travel one week ago. We just had our first concert in Teatr Rozbark in Bytom with Slavyk, new quartet with two wonderful multi talented Polish artists, Julia Lewandowska and Łukasz Malok.

Slavyk is 2 Bands in 1 – Alice in WonderBand and CISI from Silesia. Each duo representing a different style, formed one Slavic Slavyk. Folk, ambient, jazz, singing poetry and body percussion: all forms an unconventional world music blend. We play, perform, sing and make magic together, fed by the traditional melodies, poetry and languages, creative souls and rich melting pot of Slavic repertoire. We love blending Polish, Silesian, Serbian and English, creating the cosmopolitan sound of citizens of the global music world.

Our premiere night, the first concert to perform the songs from the new Slavyk album, which is in preparation, was a time to remember. In the warm atmosphere of the first of the Red Carpet concerts in Teatr Rozbark in Bytom, we were greeted by the audience that knows our work as well as some new faces. We love performing in front of audience of all ages, so we had kids, youth, adults and seniors. It was a firework of energy, with songs like Kochamy się muzyką (We love each other with music) and Presence in social media, adding some blues and jazz notes with Ti meni i ja tebi (You to me and I to you), feel good vibes with the Open sea and bringing tears and remembrance of the loved one that passed with Śpiewaj mi slaviczku (Sing to me, nightingale). Sabina Letner, actress and dancer from the Teatr Rozbark team, joined us as guest for some of the songs. Even two songs from the next Alice in WonderBand album had premiere, like Dodole, which we recorded with Julia, Sabina and Łukasz or Dilmano dilbero (with Milanosz) last November in Łukasz’ studio in Bytom.
We’re waiting for videos from this event – follow our YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. We invite you to join us in Krakow this Sunday, April 6th, at Kontakt. Presztren Ruchu Tańca i Muzyki for another Slavyk concert. We are also looking forward to recording a session for Do Dzieła! projekt in Katowice.
Seminars and body music workshops
In March we held a one day seminar in Koprivnica in Croatia for teachers. After that, we had a workshop at the Waldorf Academy Sunce in Belgrade. On April 26 we’ll be teaching in Karlovac at the space of Glazbeni centar Buka. Seminars are popular with teachers and pre-school pedagogues, for body music is a great way to develop speech, movement, coordination and self awareness in kids – and adults.
AWb body music events in 2025
This year’s confirmed events are here! We hope we will be able to organize the New Balkan Rhythm festival in Sremski Karlovci for the fourth time. The situation is Serbia is very unstable, so everything is on hold. We are holding our fingers crossed for the long awaited and needed changes. But, we’re not holding our breath: we would have to do it for the last thirty years. We will let you know in the right time.
