We haven’t been online in a long time! We spent this winter on Fruška Gora, resting, after a busy year. While we were resting, (of course) we’re working on a new album. Since spring began, in addition to rehearsals and training, we have been planting a garden, flowers, digging, watering, pruning, weeding, hoeing, making cuttings and germinating new plants. And we are almost ready for the beginning of the body music season.
First event is a seminar for teachers in Croatia on March 15th in Koprivnica, the next one a workshop in Belgrade at the Waldorf Academy on 22nd. Then, we’re off to Poland to perform with Slavyk in Bytom, at Teatr Rozbark on March 29th and in Krakow, at Kontakt. Presztren Ruchu Tańca i Muzyki on April 9th. While we’re there, we’ll hop to Poznan to do workshops with kids at Publiczna Szkoła Podstawowa Specto on April 2nd and 3rd.
New Polish – Serbian project Slavyk presents: inventive Julia Lewandowska with high energy skills, Wonder Ana Vrbaški with power voice and strong discipline of a manager, smiling master of polyrhythm Marko Dinjaški and a multi instrumental architect of sound and improvisation Łukasz Malok. Last November we were busy with recording our first album at Łukasz’ studio. We’re eager to play all the songs in concert for the first time.
In the next two weeks, watch the premiere of the video recordings of the performance at the World Music Festival Bratislava on our social media and YouTube channel. The concert was supported by the Sounds of Europe project, in which one of the partners was the World Music Association Serbia. We are grateful for the support of the Ministry of Culture of Serbia through the mobility program.
We started the concert in Bratislava with the presentation of the short residency we had with Milánosz vocal group (Dana Račková, Petra Majerčiková, Lukáš Kosek). We liked the work so much that last December we recorded the Bulgarian song Dilmano, dilbero with Dana and Petra for the new album. Listen to how it sounded live in concert: premiering on March 13.
The latest song we recorded is Igraj, kolo jabuko with Jelena Soro. We finally covered a song from Slovenia, from Bela Krajna, and we took part of the motif from the kolo dance (wheel) that is danced there. In the photos you can also see our secret member, who is in charge of the bass line in the body percussion.
The next two collaborations are with Ildiko Kali from Slovakia and Elena Hristova from Macedonia.
This year we are performing and leading workshops in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Finland, Italy and Croatia.
We are honored that we’re selected for the City of Munich’s artist-in-residence program AIR-M! We will spend three months there, from October to December, in collaboration with a dear friend and artist, Andreas Schantz from Octopus Theater. More exciting news soon.
